The Wainstones
This was a dramatic ridge walk along the rim of the precipitous escarpment overlooking the vast Cleveland Plain. The going is strenuous with three separate climbs involving a total ascent of 1200 feet.
The Wainstones, themselves, are a jumble of large sandstone rocks and boulders on a windy ridge.
