The Waterfall Collector
What is it about waterfalls that fascinate us? After all, it's just water flowing over rocks. Why do we feel compelled to visit them over and over again. They are all unique, each one is different. Why do we find them enchanting, romantic and even mysterious? These photos are a few of my favourites. More will be added, as and when I take them. Suggestions for more to visit will be most welcome.

Falling Foss

Falling Foss

Falling Foss will be heard before it is seen, for this beautiful waterfall, which can be spectacular after heavy rainfall, is partially hidden by foliage. It is about 30ft high.

I wasn't satisfied with the view from above, so I had to figure out a way to get down to it. If you climb over the fence there is a steep path going down to it but it would mean negotiating a rocky drop of about 6ft which i didn't consider as I thought I might not be able to get back up again so I walked further down through the woods with the intention of getting to the riverbed and then walking back upstream which I did. It was very boggy and hard to see the ground properly as it was about a foot deep in leaves, and fallen trees everywhere. When I eventually got to the fall it started to rain, so I only took two photos and then had to walk all the way back, then it was tricky getting back up the steep, wet, leafy banking and I slipped twice, getting even more muddy, I thought i was going to be there all day! I wish I hadn't gone now to be honest, I was disappointed with this...........i might invest in a rope ladder!
