St. Bees Head
I wanted a photo of this after seeing it on the telly! I didn't want to walk from St. Bees village along the coast to it, I was feeling lazy. I had seen a road to it on the map and a car park nearby. It took some finding, driving along lots of narrow roads, from the village of Sandwith. I reached a farm at the end of the road and had to park and walk the rest of the way after all which was about half a mile. I was a bit disappointed with it as I thought it was a black and white stripey one! Shortly after I got my camera out it started raining heavily, luckily I had my waterproofs with me! This was taken immediately after it stopped.
A little further south is St. Bees village. This is the start of the Coast to Coast walk created by Alfred Wainwright. It is 190 miles from St. Bees across three counties to Robin Hood's Bay on the North Yorkshire coast and takes 14 days to complete.
