After arriving at the foot of the dam exhausted we stop for a break and consult the map. The map suggests that we go left and clockwise round the reservoir but after chatting to another walker and native of the area he suggests taking a short cut to the right and climbing the steep banking and scrambling over rocks to reach our footpath higher up. This proved to be the better option and I enjoyed taking this photo with the snow-capped Moelwyn Bach seen above the opposite side of the reservoir.
